Headshot

I research civic data and build software that improves it.

I am the IJF's primary backend engineer. I'm working on Open by Default, Canada's largest ever trove of gov't documents; I built the system we use to process the files we receive daily from more than 150 departments.

I also built the system that powers our stores of structured data. Most recently, we published a Procurement database.

I assist or lead the fact-finding process for all our databases. The handbook I wrote for that Procurement project summarizes our work well.

Reporting

I worked at The Western Gazette, Canada's largest student paper, full time for most my undergrad. After graduation I was its editor. My investigations were nominated for national awards.
